Installation Position
The hydraulic cylinders of the forklift hydraulic systems are generally equipped with lifting hydraulic cylinders, tilting hydraulic cylinders, steering hydraulic cylinders, etc. Therefore, the tilting cylinder of the forklift is installed in the hydraulic cylinder of the forklift hydraulic system as the name implies. The tilting cylinders of forklift trucks are all piston-type, and there is an oil pipe joint at the front and rear ends of the cylinder. The main parts structure are piston rod, dustproof ring, special screw plug, Yx-shaped seal, O-shaped seal, guide sleeve, cylinder barrel, retaining ring, piston, up the ring, and so on forklift parts. so how to remove tilt cylinder from forklift?
Dismantling Method
- Remove the oil pipe fitting, unscrew the tilt hydraulic cylinder pin screw, pull off the pin, and take off the forklift hydraulic cylinder from the forklift.
- Fix the tilting hydraulic cylinder on the vise, unscrew the screw, remove the gland, and remove the elastic retaining ring.
- Pull out the piston rod and accessories from the cylinder through the earring.
- Pull out the cotter pin, screw on the nut, and take off the gasket, Yx-shaped seal, support ring, piston, guide sleeve, O-ring seal, etc.
- Remove the thrust gasket, loosen the nut and unscrew the earring.
Inspection and Repair of Major Spare Parts
- After disassembling the tilting hydraulic cylinder, the forklift parts should be cleaned and dried carefully.
- Check the coaxial of the forklift piston and forklift piston rod. Put the forklift piston rod on the V-frame and check it with a micrometer, if it is over-poor due to the accuracy of the forklift piston not meeting the accuracy requirements, it should be given to replace.
- Check forklift piston sense bending. Check with V-frame and micrometer, when bending, it should be corrected and repaired.
- When the surface of the forklift cylinder is seriously worn or scratched, it can be repaired by honing.
- If the inner hole of the forklift guide tube is seriously worn or scratched, it should be replaced.
- If the leather bowl and forklift seals are worn and broken, they should be replaced. When an O-shaped seal is used on the forklift piston, it should be replaced when it loses its original shape after several years.
- The clearance between the inner surface of the cylinder barrel and forklift piston after repair should be 0.04-0.13mm, but the license should not be more than 0.25mm.
- The clearance between the forklift piston rod and the guide sleeve should be 0.04-0.15mm, if the clearance is more than 0.45mm, the guide sleeve should be replaced.
Forklift Tilt Cylinder Main Parts Repair
The cylinder body, piston rod, and piston, their damage form, repair method, and requirements are basically the same as the requirements of lifting the cylinder... The difference is that the cylinder body and piston fit clearance are 0.10~0.15mm, and the use limit is not greater than 0.2mm. Otherwise, the piston should be replaced, in the Imo oil cylinder... The pin sleeve at both ends of the inclined cylinder and the pin fit clearance is 0.08~0.1mm, not more than 0.5mm. Otherwise, the pin sleeve should be replaced.
Forklift Tilt Cylinder Installation and Adjustment
Forklift tilt cylinder installation is carried out in the reverse order of decomposition, with the same precautions as the lift cylinder... When checking and adjusting the front and rear tilt angle of the door frame, the forklift truck is fully loaded, the door frame is vertical; the forks are raised to a height of 500mm from the ground, the reversing valve is closed, the quadrant is placed on the cutting surface of the inner door frame, and the angle reading is recorded... After that, pull the reversing valve to tilt the joystick to make the forward tilt in place... Its angle variable value, the forward tilt angle, is generally 6°. Then pull the joystick in the opposite direction so that the rear is in place. The value of the angle variation of the door frame relative to the vertical position is the rear tilt angle, generally 12°. If the tilt angle is too large and too small, it can be adjusted by rotating the earring on the head of the piston rod and then securing it with a nut and locking it with a stop pad.
The Forklift Tilt Cylinder is Not in Place

How To Store The Hydraulic Cylinder
After cleaning the hydraulic cylinder with diesel oil or kerosene, apply lubricating oil, wrap the hydraulic cylinder with oil paper and spray diesel oil on the outer surface and inner surface, and cover the inner layer with a cloth.
