Where are the fuel injectors located?
The fuel injector of some automobile engines is on the intake manifold, and the fuel injector of some automobile engines is on the cylinder head. The specific location of the fuel injector depends on which injection method the engine uses.
The introduction of the fuel injector is as follows: 1. If the fuel injector is on the intake manifold, the fuel injection method of this engine is multi-point EFI. If the fuel injector is on the cylinder head, the fuel injection method of this engine is a direct injection in the cylinder. If the engine has two sets of fuel injectors, the fuel injection method used in this engine is mixed injection. 2. The engine equipped with mixed injection technology can choose different fuel injection methods under different working conditions, which can improve the efficiency of the engine and increase its power of the engine. 3. Most of the new cars are using direct injection technology, and the direct injection engine is more powerful. Engines equipped with direct injection technology inject gasoline directly into the combustion chamber, where air and gasoline are mixed in the combustion chamber. The injection pressure of the direct injection engine is higher, and the mixture of gasoline and air is better, so the power of this engine is also stronger.
How to test fuel injector?
There are four main inspection methods for engine fuel injectors:
- Zero spray test: remove the fuel injector, connect the oil supply pipe and battery or connect the 3V power supply, touch the positive pole of the battery with a wire, the fuel injection is crisp, and it is normal to park in time.
- Oil drop test: do not energize the fuel injector, but the electric fuel pump continues to pump oil, and the oil dripping from the injector nozzle is more than 1 drop per minute, which is normal.
- Fuel injection quantity test: Connect the fuel injector to the battery for 1.5 seconds to see the quantity of fuel injected. Each model has specific requirements, you should consult the relevant information; check the fuel injection difference of all injectors, generally, 15s can not be greater than 5mL.
- Simple inspection method: You can connect two dry batteries (about 3V) to the fuel injector, and blow air to the fuel injector; when the power is off, it cannot blow, and there is no air leakage; when it is powered on, it is normal.
