1) Clutch function
The clutch is used to cut off and transmit the power from the engine to the drive train. The main functions are as follows.
①Smooth start before the forklift starts, first start the engine with the engine load cut off, and gradually increase the torque on the drive train by gently engaging the clutch. When the traction force generated by the driving wheels is enough to overcome the starting resistance, the forklift starts Move and accelerate gradually.
②In order to adapt to the changing driving (operation) conditions during the driving process of the forklift, the transmission system often needs to be switched to different gears and different directions. When shifting gears, first step on the clutch pedal to cut off the power connection between the engine and the transmission, and no power is transmitted between the meshing gears in the transmission or between other meshing pairs, so that the original gear meshing pair is easy to withdraw from the transmission. After the transmission is engaged in the new gear, the clutch is combined to establish a new power connection between the transmission and the engine.
③Prevent the overload of the drive train. When the speed of the vehicle changes sharply, the transmission parts in the drive train will generate a large moment of inertia, and the load on them may greatly exceed the maximum torque of the engine during normal operation, which will overload the drive train. Because the torque that the clutch can transmit is limited, when there is excessive torque, the driving part and the driven part will slip each other, thus preventing the transmission system from being damaged due to overload.
2) Types of clutches
(at present, most of the clutches matched with manual transmissions are dry friction clutches. Dry friction clutches can be divided into single disc type, double disc type, etc. according to the number of their driven discs. The structure is divided into a circumferential spring clutch and a diaphragm spring clutch.
3) Clutch structure
The clutch divides the parts into four parts according to their functions, namely the active part as the power output source, the driven part to be inputted with power, the pressing mechanism that engages the main and driven parts, and the realization of the active part and the driven part. Separate steering mechanism.
