What Are The Common Electrical Problems on A Car?

The faults of the automotive electrical system can be generally divided into two categories: One is the fault of electrical equipment. The other is the fault of the line.

Electrical equipment failure refers to the loss of original functions of the electrical equipment itself, including mechanical damage, burnout, breakdown, aging, and performance degradation of electrical equipment.

Motor problem

During the normal operation of the car engine, sometimes there will be an idling situation, and it is necessary to use the engine control center to transmit the switch signal, so as to accurately judge the idling situation of the engine. In addition, when the engine is running, if the engine idle switch signal encounters a low potential input problem, it indicates that the idle contact of the automobile engine is closed so that the control center shows that the automobile engine is in idle condition.

In this situation, in order to maintain the normal operation of the car engine, the idle speed control system will be activated to adjust the engine operating conditions. When there is a fault in the signal circuit of the idle switch of the automobile engine, it will affect the judgment result of the automobile engine control center, affect the accuracy of judgment, and the work instructions given are prone to errors, resulting in abnormal engine operation, such as abnormal jitter, etc.

Start problem

The abnormal operation of the automobile starter is one of the typical fault types in the automobile electrical system, and it is also a fault that has a great impact on the overall quality and structure of the automobile. The main reasons for the abnormal operation of the starter are the problem with the PTO switches of the starter, the quality defect of the engine itself, etc. Therefore, when diagnosing and repairing the abnormal fault of the starter, we can start with the quality of the starting system circuit and components, conduct a comprehensive investigation of the operating status of the starter, find out the cause of the fault, and carry out targeted maintenance.

If the car engine is in the idling condition, the engine will heat up and send a signal to the temperature sensor, so as to take corresponding measures to cool down, such as reducing the amount of fuel injector using coolant, etc. However, when the cooling operation is performed on the automobile engine if the cooling temperature sensor fails and an early warning cannot be given if the water temperature is too high, which is not conducive to timely cooling, and may easily cause the problem of excessive engine temperature.

Electrical parts problem

Blown Fuses: When you frequently have to replace blown fuses, it's a sign that something in the electrical part is sending too much current through those fuses.

Dimmed Headlights/Taillights/Domelights: If you notice any dimmed lights on your car while driving, this could indicate a problem with the electrical system, usually a faulty alternator. Ignoring it can get you into trouble.

Sensor and switch system failure: Before the car is started, some commands are transmitted to the control components, and the corresponding accessories do not respond. This condition requires an inspection of the control elements and sensors. When the vehicle is running, the speed, temperature, sound, and peculiar smell may all be engine problems caused by electrical component failures.
