Repair of The Radiator

Cleaning of the radiator

①Fill the radiator with water, cover the radiator cap, and close the water inlet and outlet.

②Connect the water pipe of the tester to the water release switch, and unscrew the water release valve.

③Pinch the rubber airbag to pressurize, when the drain pipe releases air, the reading on the pressure gauge is 27~37kPa.

④Turn off the water release switch, connect the rubber tube to the vent pipe, add water pressure to 50kPa, and check whether the radiator is leaking.

Repair of radiator

①When the upper and lower water chambers are not seriously corroded, they can generally be repaired by tin plating. The method is to remove the scale with hydrochloric acid, wipe it clean, use a brush to coat the inner and outer surfaces with zinc chloride solution, weld with tin-aluminum material No. 1, the welding tool is electric grid iron, when the upper and lower water often have holes or cracks, It can be repaired by the patch method. The method is to use a patch with a 0 outer eye that is 10~20mm longer than the length caused by the crack, cover the weld, apply zinc chloride solvent, and then solder around the patch.

①The appearance of the thermostat should be clean, and the fit with the seat hole should be tight, and the sealing should be reliable.

② After the engine is cold started, the temperature of the cooling water rises rapidly. After reaching the initial start temperature, the rise of the water temperature slows down significantly, and the engine thermostat works normally. If the water temperature continues to rise rapidly, or even "boil the pot", it indicates that the thermostat has failed and should be replaced.

③ When removing and inspecting, put the thermostat in the container of water, and measure the water temperature with a thermometer. Gradually heat the water, when the water temperature reaches the initial opening temperature, the thermostat valve should start to open; when the water temperature reaches the fully open temperature, the thermostat valve should be fully opened, and its maximum lift should not be less than the standard limit, otherwise , the thermostat should be replaced.
